Still work to do as Poppy is distracted by barn smells. A few days ago we couldn't even do the vicksters as she lagged so much, but a bit of improvement today. We also did some weaving between 4 planter pots and the finish for the recall. Here's the practice vicksters....

Good work, but these pointers will help Poppy maintain better (closer to you) heel position.
In this same location..
1) Work Poppy close to the barn doors/wall so she has a left side boundary.
2)When you do the RAT, on leash, DO winch and winch often, to train Poppy to pick up her speed in order to maintain heel position.
3) On leash, work her Figure 8, or do 3 hula hoops/cones, or even 4 hula hoops/cones, to require Poppy to maintain heel position.
4) This one is super effective to train dog to maintain heel position. On leash, work Poppy into any 90° corner to where she HAS to pick up speed on the RAT or she runs into the wall. You will want the 'J' loop longer and the right hand closer to your right butt cheek to give Poppy appropriate leash direction/pressure. The trick to do this effectively is to JUST barely give the learning dog time to avoid hitting the wall BY choosing to speed up to maintain heel position.
